As soon as someone comes out with a mini tuner compatible portable XM radio for under $100. Can someone tell me where these alleged portable radios can be purchased.
It works very well. I bought the mini tuner and home docking unit to go with my new home theater receiver.
Amazon and Audiovox advertise that there are portable radios out there, but the closest I came was an Eton Shortwave table-top radio costing $500. It then occured to me to get a portable radio to move around with me from home to vehicle, and while traveling out of town.
I have not been able to find one. There are all kinds of self-contained portable XM radios at low cost, but they all require a separate XM subscription frome my mini tuner subscription.
I will buy it.
Put together with an outdoor antenna. XM never drops out. Works well with my Pioneer reciever. Perfect add on to the new XM ready recievers
i use this tuner with my Onkyo receiver. Its easier than attaching a inno though RCA.
Displayed all of the relevent information. This product worked as promised. It plugged directly into my reciever. It got excellent reception. No need to place the antenna in the window.
Therefore it only makes sense to purchase the home docking kit and tuner if you don't plan on buying a portable receiver. I purchased the XM home docking kit and tuner under the impression I could use the tuner in a portable device as well as with my home stereo system. It turns out that most, if not all, of the portable devices out there already have a built in tuner and come with a home docking station. Luckily Amazon customer service is awesome and they are taking the device back. Thanks Amazon, great as always.
